After presenting four awards in October, a fifth Guardian Give-Back Angels Award was presented this month by the Butts County Board of Education to Jackson Presbyterian Church.

Church members coordinate a school supply drive each year, delivering the collections to School Social Worker Susan Sarsany, who nominated the church for the award. The Guardian Give-Back Angels Award goes to community partners who help the Butts County School System help students in need.

Jackson Presbyterian Pastor Becky Baker, and members Ronnie Baker, Mary Ellen Austin and Dede Rowland, also a math teacher at Jackson High School, came to the Nov. 14 school board meeting to accept the award.
